G just returned from a trip to DC.  His academic challenge team won 2nd place in the region and will advance to Nationals.  I asked him if he had a good time and he said it was so nice to just be with a bunch of other smart kids and not have to deal with teasing from the kids who make fun of smart kids.  He said it was really nice.  I'm glad he had that opportunity.

G here, I would like to add something. So our team is now in the Nationals starting next week. And the funny thing is that we would have placed higher, had we lost 2 times in the qualifying rounds. We would have ended up facing the "eventual" champion and beating them. But instead, we won everything up until the championship.
